About Me

I was born and raised on the Island. Although my early years were spent in Douglas, my father's family was from Peel and the west has always been an important part of my life.

Public service was part of my upbringing. My mother founded the Isle of Man Children's Centre and later served as a Peel Town Commissioner.

I left the Island to study Building Services Engineering, served for five years as a Special Constable with Greater Manchester Police and later for 20 years as an officer in the Royal Navy. Since returning in 2019, I have worked in Government leading teams, managing infrastructure and delivering complex services and projects.

That has given me a close view of what Government does well, where good people can become frustrated by the systems around them, and where we need to become better at turning plans into results.

My experiences haven't taught me that I always know the answer. They have taught me how to listen, assess evidence, make difficult decisions and take responsibility for delivering them.
